ABOUT THE PROJECT 

One-to-One Implementations are a logistical, programmatic and pedagogical challenge for any school.  This is even more complex when you are the fifth largest school district in the country with over 350,000 students!  When you are trying to pull off a project like this, you’d better double-check your planning.  This is where Educational Collaborators came in!

The project begins by looking at Miami-Dade County Public School’s mission.  We evaluated the alignment of the project goals to the mission of the district to ensure the project was couched in something larger than itself.  Then, through a series of interviews and surveys, Educational Collaborators evaluated their alignment with best practices across the following areas:

• Assessment of the program,
• Financial planning,
• Infrastructure development,
• Curriculum integration,
• Professional development,
• Marketing and communication,
• End-user support, and
• Device deployment.

Every school has room to improve.  Though the fine people at Miami-Dade had done a wonderful job of planning this large scale initiative, there was still room for improvement.  Educational Collaborators offered specific recommendations, based on their deep experience in the field, to strengthen weak areas of their plan.
